The winegrowers of Saint Mont have always been very attached to jazz and to the Jazz in Marciac festival, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year from 28 July to 15 August 2017.
Featuring jazz stars Ibrahim Maalouf, George Benson and Dee Dee Bridgewater this year, the opening of the festival will be hosted by the talented Norah Jones.

Jazz amidst the vineyards” at Château de Sabazan</ span>

This is an opportunity for Plaimont to organise, during the festival, a Jazz concert in the heart of the vineyards at Château de Sabazan. This year’s concert features saxophonist Emile Parisien and accordionist Vincent Peirani.
The duet’s performance will be a tribute to Sidney Bechet and to the early years of jazz.
A great moment of musical discovery, astonishing harmonies, free play and intensity.

Jazz in Marciac – discover the wine tourism route

The Château de Sabazan concert is an opportunity to discover the Château’s wine tourism offers: guided tour of the vineyard and the terroir of Saint Mont by a winegrower of the appellation; visit the wine barrel cellar.

Continue on the route with a visit to Château Saint Gô in Bouzon-Gellenave (4km); discover the vineyard and cellars and then enjoy a tasting at the Aignan wine cellar.

The winegrowers offer many other wine tourism activities, around the Adour and the area of Plaisance du Gers, throughout the Jazz in Marciac festival.
Including, of course, many winegrowers’ guesthouses.
