The winegrowers of Saint Mont renew their partnership with the must-see event of the region, the international jazz festival: Jazz in Marciac. Great Tourist Site in Midi-Pyrénées Every summer Marciac welcomes the biggest names in jazz. Marciac is also an important symbol for the winegrowers as it is the southern gateway to our appellation.

From 29 July to 15 August, the winegrowers play out the harmonious notes of their terroir. Plaimont is not just on the site, they also sponsor 2 concerts at the Festival, put on a concert at the Château de Sabazan, and organise activities with wine.

An event concert 6 August at the Château de Sabazan:
Since 2012, winegrowers have invited one of the festival’s participating musicians to put on a concert in the bucolic setting of the Château de Sabazan (gratuit). Following the Latino beat of Roberto Fonseca, virtuoso pianist Jacky Terrasson and frenzied violinist Didier Lockwood, Brazilian singer and songwriter Ed Motta </ strong> will give a sensational concert for the public in the grounds of Château de Sabazan, Saturday, August 6th.

This exclusive concert will be followed by a country picnic featuring some of the region’s delicious produce (Noir de Bigorre (black) pork, duck, Selection des Bergers – Label Rouge lamb, cheeses from the Pyrenees, croustade…) accompanied by the wines of Saint Mont. Throughout the day, from 10:00 to 16:00, visitors can discover the terroir of the Château de Sabazan through informational guided tours: soil observation, explanations on local ancestral grape varieties … and taste the great wines of Saint Mont, at the Château.

Throughout the festival, a mini train sporting the colours of Saint Mont will depart from the Marciac town sqaure, taking up festival-goers who want to participate freely in the “vines sponsorship” on Biste hill, where each row is named after a Jazz musician.

Every year, during the “Fête de la Gastronomie”, a “grand harvest” is organized on this parcel in partnership with the city of Marciac.

Wine tourism – 01 July to 31 August 2016 :

Mornings – customized guided tour of the vineyard of SAINT MONT, with a winegrower and an oenologist: starting point from the Château de Sabazan, at 10:15 every Thursday, and on Tuesdays during the festival period. Sign up at +33 5 62 09 04 32 (free – limited number – 15 pers. – duration 1.5 hrs.)

A rare, virtually personal tour of the Saint Mont vineyard, its terroirs and cellars, and an opportunity to learn how wine is made and matured. In particular, visitors will have a chance to taste the Saint Mont wines straight from the barrel.

The warm, straightforward hospitality of the people of Gascony imparts a unique personality to this outstanding festival. Its widely-publicized image has made Marciac famous all over the world.
