04. Native grape varieties

SAINT MONT wines are made exclusively from local grape varieties

All the grape varieties used in SAINT MONT are native to the area, offspring of the northern Pyrenean foothills of south-west France :

For the rosés and red wines : Tannat, Pinenc, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon

For the white wines : Gros Manseng, Arrufiac and Petit Courbu.

The SAINT MONT appellation is a viticultural treasure trove:

• vines more than 150 years old, among the oldest vine stocks in France

• a Vineyard Conservatory, in the villages of Sarragachies and Pouydraguin, preserving this unique heritage of old indigenous varieties in plots where some varieties have still not been precisely identified.
